What to expect

Day 1 - From Bordeaux to Saint-Emilion

The trip begins in the heart of Bordeaux, in the friendly atmosphere of Cadre
Café Vélo, the ideal starting point for a cycling adventure.

After a presentation of the program and a quick briefing on the route, you gradually leave the city behind and head into the Bordeaux countryside. The landscapes change rapidly: the banks of the Garonne give way to peaceful villages and the first rows of vineyards.

The route follows varied and pleasant gravel paths, allowing you to discover a more intimate side of the Bordeaux region. Throughout the day, your guide will share historical anecdotes, local culture, and secrets of the vineyard landscapes.

Halfway through, a friendly break awaits you with a French-style picnic, featuring local products. This delicious moment will be an opportunity to fully enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. In the afternoon, the route continues through the rolling landscapes of the Entre-Deux-Mers region before gradually reaching the prestigious vineyards of Saint-Émilion.

Arriving in this medieval village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, marks a highlight of the trip. You can enjoy the unique atmosphere of its cobbled streets and iconic vineyards.

Day 2 - The great vineyards of Saint-Émilion

This second day immerses you in the heart of the Saint-Émilion wine region, one of the most prestigious areas of the Bordeaux wine region.

From the medieval village, the route takes you through the vineyards surrounding the town. The roads wind between wine châteaux, windmills, and vine-covered hills, offering exceptional panoramic views of this landscape shaped by human hands for centuries.

Throughout the day, you will pass through several villages steeped in history:

  • Saint-Hippolyte
  • Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse
  • Saint-Philippe-d’Aiguilhe
  • Puisseguin

These lands still bear the imprint of Roman occupation, as evidenced by numerous churches and ancient monuments. Between heritage, nature, and prestigious vineyards, this route reveals an authentic and often overlooked side of the region.

A picnic lunch is planned halfway through the journey to fully enjoy the serenity of the landscapes.

At the end of the day, return to Saint-Émilion, then transfer by train to Bordeaux.

The adventure will conclude at Cadre Café Vélo, where you'll find yourself back at the starting point of this trip.
